Small changes, big impact.

Lately we have had a lot of staging projects for homes that are vacant but have furniture. Whether it be selling childhood homes for a parent or homeowners who are selling a second home. Often these homes don’t have the appeal for current buyers. Some paint colors may be dated or furniture may be worn. Buyers are looking for updated spaces and need to be able to visualize how they will live there.

In comes Salt + Pine.

The living has dated furniture and doesn’t appear lived in.

In this space painting and removing the paneling wasn’t an option. The clients were able to remove the window coverings and the existing furniture was able to be stored in the garage. We brought in a modern cream couch along with chairs that had a vibe that went with the age of the home. We created a design plan that embraced the color palette that was there. The living room walls were a cream with the faux wood paneled walls. The dining room wall paper has a hint of mauve. We played on the mauve color by adding a touch of rust with the rug print. Keeping the artwork very neutral help draw the potentials buyers eye around the room. Adding in touches of greenery with the large plant in the corner took away the full force of the paneled wall. This home was on the market for 1 day!

Updated light colored furniture gives and light/bright modern feel.

The bedroom felt dark and the bedding was dated.

This next space was a second home for the couple whose primary residence was out of state. Furniture removal was not an option in this situation. We brought in an accessory package to update the feel of the furniture that was in the space.

The primary bedroom space felt dark. The existing bedding was dated. Bringing in white bedding and lot’s of pillows gave a luxurious feel to the space. We added a rug under the bed which help ground the space and break up the wall to wall carpeting. Moving a chair in from the living room made a cozy seating area for two in the beautiful bay window. The result? Offer on day 1.

Adding white bedding with lot’s of pillows brought a luxurious feel to the space.

Small changes made a big impact for both of these properties and resulted in offers on day 1.
